Grocery Delivery in Orlando

The grocery delivery service I had been using decided it now only wants to serve tourists, and not Orlando residents. While looking for an alternative, I stumbled upon a service called Shipt. They provide grocery delivery to Orlando and a few other cities in the U.S. It involves a paid membership, and it sounds similar to Uber, in that the drivers/shoppers are independent contractors. You can supposedly place your order, and get same day delivery, as soon as an hour. Has anyone had any experience with this service? If so, please let us know your impressions. I'm hesitant to just hand over my credit card info without some idea that the service is going to be reliable and accessible.

Orlando doesn't have that amazon now or whatever it is?

In case anyone's wondering, I decided to give Shipt a try. For the most part, I'm impressed with the service, and I think I'll continue to use it. They have a great selection--I think the selection is basically everything available at Publix, with the exception of alcohol. The cost of the service seems quite reasonable to me. There are a couple accessibility issues, but I was able to work around them without much difficulty, using the Google Chrome browser and the ChromeVox screen reader. The only part that I really couldn't access was the part that allows you to rate your shopper. They apparently use unlabeled graphics. I was able to click on one, using NVDA and FireFox, but I don't know exactly what I clicked. I picked the fifth unlabeled clickable element, assuming it was a five star rating. I reported the issue to support, and they told me they would forward my issue to the development team, so there's hope that it will be fixed.

Hi, Shipt is a great service. You are correct that you can get pretty much whatever they sell at Publix. I too have reported accessibility issues to them with the website and iPhone app. Hopefully they will fix them. Once they do, I will gladly become a paid member. I signed up because of a two week trial period, and revoked my membership afterwards.

They're here in Nashville as well. I remember thinking the service was a bit pricy, but it's been a while since I really looked at it.

I went back and revisited the site. For areas where Amazon Prime Now isn't an option, this looks pretty good. It certainly gives more options for fresh and frozen foods than even Prime now does. The cheapest way to go is the 99 dollar annual membership. after that, any order over 35 dollars gets delivered for free. Internet explorer doesn't seem to like it very well though. Mine crashed several times while I tried to browse.
